Nestled in the heart of the Southern Drakensberg, on a scenic 860 acre World Heritage site, rests the magnificent Drakensberg Gardens Golf & Spa Resort, one of KwaZulu-Natal's premier destination.
With breathtaking views of the Drakensberg mountains, the Resort is a one of kind retreat for guests to relax and unwind. Drakensberg Gardens Golf & Spa Resort is an ideal location to host Conferences and Golf events aswell as being a fantastic holiday destination for the entire family.
Accommodation throughout the Resort includes spacious and comfortable standard hotel rooms and superior suites. Each room has a private bathroom, television, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities and heaters, the superior suites also include under floor heating for those chilly winter days. Another option is our four, five and six sleeper self-catering units. These fully equipped selfcatering units are ideal for guests who wish to cater for their meals whilst also having the option to dine at any of the restaurants available at the Resort.
Equally celebrated are the Resorts star dining facilities, which cater for a variety of taste buds. Restaurants on the Resort include the Eagles Roost Restaurant offering buffet style dining; the Bistro for light meals; the Vineknot Restaurant offering wholesome home-style cooking; the Bergview Restaurant & Bar with a la carte menu and the Glengarry Country Club with delicious light meals available throughout the day.
There is also a selection of pubs ranging from the WildCat Sports Bar, the comfy Buck & Trout Bar, the Bergview Bar and the Glengarry Country Club pub, which are also popular spots where guests gather to mingle.
The Drakensberg Gardens Golf Leisure Resort is the ideal venue for conferences. Two state-of-the-art conference / function venues that seat up to 200 guests easily accommodate day conferences, seminars, presentations, cocktail parties, gala dinners, special occasions, functions and weddings.
Drakensberg Gardens offers a long list of sport and recreational facilities for a fun filled holiday or teambuilding adventure , including the famous, one and only, 18 hole golf course in the Southern Berg (NGU), tennis, bowls, squash, volleyball, badminton, fly fishing, hiking and horse riding, canoeing, adventure golf, a kids entertainment room, a mini-zoo, snooker, and table tennis as well as an entertainment programme for the whole family. The hotel also offers equipment for hire such as tennis rackets, board games, fishing rods and all the necessary golfing apparel.

Set on a scenic 860 acre World Heritage site, the resort is a one of a kind retreat for guests to rekindle, relax and unwind. One can venture into the great outdoors - hiking, horse riding, canoeing or trout fishing - play around on the Southern Drakensberg’s only 18 hole golf course or simply relax beside the swimming pools.
And now due to the growth and popularity of mountain biking, the Drakensberg Gardens have developed and custom built a single track at the resort. The route is 12km and passes by the resort’s picturesque dam, through the golf course as well as the lush pine forest and is suitable for all riders of all levels. Bikes are also made available from the Hotel reception.
There is something for everyone to enjoy at a special retreat that is just two and a half hours from Durban.
The three star rated Drakensberg Gardens Golf & Spa Resort offers 79 Hotel rooms as well as 11 self-catering 4 x 4 sleepers and 7 x 2 sleepers. The self catering units all have a fully equipped kitchen (with fridge, microwave and stove) as well as a comfortable lounge which is ideal for family getaways. And if parents are looking for a break from cooking and child care, they can request a babysitter at reception and enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants.

Directions from Durban:
Take the N3 past Pietermaritzburg.
Just before Howick take the off ramp to the left marked “Underberg/Bulwer R617.”
Follow the signs to Bulwer on the R617 all the way to Underberg.
Go through the town of Underberg, you will pass the Country Club on your right.
± 4km outside Underberg you will see a large signboard indicating a “right turn” to Drakensberg Gardens Resort.
Follow the 29km tarred road until you arrive at the Hotel.
The journey takes approximately two and a half hours.

For the golfing enthusiast, the Resort prides itself in the renowned Glengarry Country Club, the only 18 hole golf course in the Southern Berg (NGU affiliated). Known to be challenging but fair, the course is ideal for all golfers from seasoned professionals to the first time player.
The Country Club boasts the most spectacular views of the Rhino Horn Peak and Lake Kwanyone boating and trout fishing dam with a beautiful clubhouse, unspoilt fairways and arresting greens that are kept in perfect playing condition throughout the year. The Club’s membership has been increasing every year and now has over 550 members.
Guests will notice the improved appearance of the course with new bridges, cart paths, the level of the tee-boxes as well as the purchase of additional golf carts.
